What is CASSON?

CASSON is a finely curated and design focused hardware company.  We are an online retailer and dealer to trade.

The cofounders of CASSON are architects and the company was born out of years of frustration attempting to source distinctive, quality products for projects.

With a design professional's eye and knowledge, we edit through all the noise and bring to you pieces that exude good design, quality, and craftsmanship.

Our motto is multum in parvo: much in little. We believe the fine details make the biggest statement.

Where is CASSON located?

We are based out of Toronto, Canada. Our products are sourced globally with a soft spot for our local Canadian designers.

What are CASSON products made from?

All of our products are selected for their high quality design, materials, and construction.  The products are made from a range of base metals, woods, concrete, polyester (yes polyester!) and so much more, and these are finished in various ways.

What is a living finish?

Some of our products are made from unfinished Brass, Bronze & Copper. These are natural finishes that are not protected with any type of external finish or coating.  

Living finishes will age with time and use which means they will oxidize and develop a patina and the initial finish will change. The finish will dull, deepen and darken. It can also appear irregular.  Either let them age with grace, or polish them with a clean, soft, damp cloth regularly. Refer to our Care and Maintenance Guide for further information.

Do you offer discounts for Trade?

Trade (architects, interior designers, builders) are able to sign up for our trade program here. Inquiries can be made to trade@cassonhardware.com

When will I receive my purchase?

Items in stock are shipped out twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. These items are noted on all product pages when stock is available. 

Other items may be oversold, on backorder or made to order. If there is no indicator of available stock, then please refer to Lead Times, listed as an expandable tab on all product pages.  Any items in stock will be shipped out first. See 'what does back order mean' below.

Made to order items will begin production once an order has been placed. These items usually have a longer lead time and cannot be returned, exchanged, or cancelled.

International deliveries may be subject to import duties and/or taxes, CASSON is NOT responsible for any charges that are incurred from customs/duties. For further information on custom policies in your country, please contact your local customs office.

What does backorder mean?

Some items are available for sale but not in current stock. They may be oversold or on back order. Shipments may be on route to us, or we can order from our suppliers who do keep stock. These items will take a little longer to get to you. Please contact us if you require more assistance with this.

If you order a mix of items that are in stock and on back order, we will apply shipping only to those items being shipped together. If you'd like to keep items together, please contact us so we can work with you to send your order in a way that works for you.

How do I select which item to order?

If you have a designer, you can ask them to help you visualize our products in your design vision.  If you're looking for some design assistance you can hire us for additional design consultation services. You can email us at general@cassonhardware.com.

Going at it alone? Please use the dimensions listed on product pages to ensure it will work within your space. Remember the motto, measure twice, cut once. We always recommend waiting to receive your order before drilling or cutting holes to ensure all measurements are 100% accurate. 

How do I install the product?

Please use a qualified installer for any hardware installs and a licensed electrician for any electrical items. A specialty installer will have the right tools and jigs/ templates to do the job. Please share any documents and drawings provided with your installer to ensure they are capable of doing the job. Ask them for references if you're unsure!

If you're a DIY'er, please ensure you have the right tools and appropriate mounting hardware and door, wall or cabinetry conditions. CASSON is not responsible for installs gone wrong.

We cannot refund or exchange items that have been attempted to have been installed. 

What does cc mean?

It is the distance between the centre of two holes drilled into cabinets.  For our purposes it is the “centre to centre” dimension for pulls.

Do you offer a warranty?

CASSON's liability is limited to the replacement of the product; no other warranty is expressed or implied. 

However, some of our suppliers and manufacturing partners do offer warranties on their individual products. Please contact us for more assistance on this matter.

Are there other ways to order if I don't want to order online?

Send our Sales Team an email at sales@cassonhardware.com outlining the items you are interested in. Someone will respond with a time slot available to take an order over the phone.
