These precision-engineered 5x5 mm spindles are designed to adapt d line door hardware—originally configured for 8x8 mm spindles—for compatibility with North American tubular latch mechanisms. They ensure a seamless fit and reliable functionality, making them ideal for converting thumb turns or toilet indicator sets to North American standards.

Each spindle is sold individually and must be cut to length on-site to accommodate varying door thicknesses.

• Thumb Turn Spindle:
  • SKU 14972892506 — for use with North American tubular latches
  • 5 mm (0.19") x 5 mm (0.19") x 85 mm (3.3")
• Toilet Indicator Spindle:
  • SKU 14972592570 — for toilet indicator sets, cut to size on-site
  • 5 mm (0.19") x 5 mm (0.19") x 70 mm (2.75")
• Rigidiser (optional): Ø19 mm (0.7") x 90 mm (3.5") — provides added stability inside the door core

Compatibility

• Converts 8x8 mm spindle mechanisms for use with North American tubular latches
• For use with door sets featuring 8 mm spindles and 38 mm fixing centres (M5 screws)

Clarification: Thumb Turn vs. Toilet Indicator Use

Spindle SKU 14972892506 is designed only for thumb turns. It is not compatible with toilet indicator sets.

For toilet indicator installations, use spindle 14972592570. Before installation, remove the internal pin (part #5 in diagram) from the indicator housing, then insert the cut-to-length spindle. A mandrel is recommended to ensure proper alignment during installation.

To install:

• Drill a Ø19 mm hole to a depth of 90 mm
