Maha Alavi

Sculptural cast-metal hardware and furniture by Canadian industrial designer Maha Alavi, whose nomadic practice spans Tokyo, London, and beyond. Trained in philosophy and psychology, Alavi approaches design as both intellectual and material inquiry—drawing on light, seasonality, and proportion observed across global cities.

Each piece is hand formed and finished, defined by seamless joinery and intuitive forms that read as both modern and timeless. The CERCLE and FAUNA series reimagine foundational geometry in cast metal, produced in a family-run foundry in Northern India using recycled metals and small-batch runs. Furniture is fabricated in Canada using sustainable practices.
