Description

Patented in Canada and the USA. Made in Canada. The Single Track Bypass™ Barn Door Hardware is a groundbreaking innovation from the Canadian studio 1925Workbench. This award-winning sliding door system allows two doors to glide seamlessly on a single track — an elegant and efficient alternative to the traditional double track bypass setup, minimizing hardware and simplifying installation.

Designed for practicality and space optimization, this bypass barn door hardware is perfect for large openings where wall space is limited. Whether you lack sufficient wall area for outward-opening doors or want a cleaner, modern sliding solution, this system provides a refined and efficient answer.

Constructed from high-quality materials such as brass and steel, this hardware delivers lasting durability and smooth operation. Available in multiple finishes — Brass, Raw Steel, Stainless Steel, and Black — it can be tailored to suit a range of residential and commercial interior designs.

We recommend reviewing the installation instructions before purchasing. See our Installation Guide (PDF) for detailed specifications and guidance.

Customization is central to our approach — we tailor each track to your exact requirements. For a detailed quote, please provide:

  • Style: Top Mount / Face Mount / Bi-Part
  • Finish: Brass / Raw Steel / Stainless Steel / Black
  • Length: Required Track Length
  • Drilling Option: Pre-drilled or Not Drilled

Proudly made and designed in Toronto by 1925Workbench, this hardware reflects a blend of heritage craftsmanship and modern engineering precision.

Specifications

Bypass System

  • Bypass systems available in two configurations:
  1. Telescopic : Both doors move together in a telescoping motion, allowing access to the full opening. Requires wall space to park the doors when opened.
  2. Standard: Each door moves independently in front of the opening, providing access to half the space at a time. Not recommended for openings less than 60” wide.

Pre-Drilled vs. Non Pre-Drilled Holes

  • Pre-drilling available — please specify when ordering. Choose pre-drilled or not pre-drilled based on your installation preference.
  • Pre-drilled holes are spaced evenly every 14.75” – 17.25” along the track.
  • Pre-drilled tracks must be mounted on a backing piece to ensure the door clears baseboards or moldings.
  • Not pre-drilled tracks can be installed directly to the wall if baseboards are flush and there is adequate blocking behind the wall.

Track Length & Measuring

  • Order at least twice the width of the door plus a minimum 2" on either side for overlap.
  • The door should be 4" wider than the opening (2" overlap per side) to cover frames or casing if applicable.
  • Tracks over 93" are shipped in two pieces.
  • Recommended headroom: 8"-10" (minimum 6").

Weight Capacity

  • Rated for doors up to 200 lbs per pair of hangers. Actual capacity may vary depending on wall structure and mounting method.

Custom Finishes

  • Please Note: For Black Powder Coated “Not Pre-drilled” orders, a 1.5″ hole will still be drilled at each end for hanging during the powder coating process.

Additional Components

  • The Floor Guide is a small bracket mounted at the base of the door to maintain stability and prevent lateral movement.
  • While optional, a floor guide is highly recommended for smooth and consistent operation.
  • Available in two types: slot guide or clamp guide.

*Price includes hardware only. Door and header piece not included.
*Suitable for outdoor applications; however, finishes will patina more quickly when exposed to the elements.

Material(s)

Crafted from solid brass, stainless steel, and other heavy metals for strength and longevity.

High-quality brass rollers with double built-in ball bearings ensure smooth, quiet, and reliable door motion.
