Prado Optional Drywall Reinforcement Junction Box Cover Plate Component

The Prado Junction Box Cover Plate is an optional reinforcement accessory designed to provide a secure and stable mounting surface for the Prado Unifit Hardwired Outlet. Specifically recommended for drywall installations, this cover plate ensures the outlet sits firmly against the finished surface and prevents movement over time.

Unlike standard mud rings, the Prado Junction Box Cover Plate is not designed to sit flush with drywall. Instead, when installed behind drywall, the outlet will be surface-mounted rather than flush-mounted. This makes it ideal for installations where a clean, professional finish is required without compromising outlet stability.

• Compatibility: Designed for use with 1-gang and 2-gang junction boxes in Prado Unifit outlet installations.
• Drywall Installation: Strongly recommended for securing hardwired outlet installations in drywall to prevent movement and ensure a stable fit.
• Not a Mud Ring: Unlike traditional mud rings, this cover plate does not sit flush within drywall but instead reinforces the junction box area.
• Flush vs. Surface Mounting: If installed behind drywall, the outlet will be surface-mounted rather than fully flush-mounted.

Junction Box Cover Plate Installation Instructions

• Prepare the Junction Box: Ensure a standard 1-gang or 2-gang junction box is securely installed.
• Position the Cover Plate: Align the Prado Junction Box Cover Plate over the junction box before finishing drywall.
• Secure the Outlet: Install the Unifit Hardwired Outlet over the cover plate and complete the wiring process.
• Finish Installation: Attach the cover plate to the outlet and secure it with the adjustable lugs for a stable fit.
