Description

The FritsJurgens System One is a concealed pivot hinge system for narrow-profile pivot doors. At just 18 mm in height, the bottom pivot installs entirely within the door, leaving the face clean. The system provides 360° free-swing rotation with no hold positions and no self-closing mechanism, and supports door weights up to 500 kg. Compatible with door frames for single-acting applications.

Available in three configurations: 70 mm (pivot point adjustable from 70 mm to center), 40 mm (pivot point fixed at 40 mm), and Top Pivot Reversed (TP-R). All versions are Class G only and support doors up to 500 kg.

What's Included

Each System One set ships as a complete kit. Top pivot type and floor plate style are selected at time of order.

  • Bottom pivot — installed inside the door; controls rotation
  • Top pivot (Regular, Cable Grommet, or Reversed) — anchors the door between floor and ceiling
  • Ceiling plate — receives the top pivot pin (standard top pivot) or Receiver — milled into top of door (Top Pivot Reversed)
  • Floor plate — supports the door at the base; surface-mounted or recessed into the sill
Configuration
  • 70 mm: Pivot point adjustable from 70 mm from the door edge to center placement. Compatible with Top Pivot 70 mm Class G. No cover plates on the bottom pivot.
  • 40 mm: Pivot point fixed at 40 mm from the door edge. Compatible with Top Pivot 40 mm Class G. Cover plates available in stainless steel or black.
  • Top Pivot Reversed (TP-R): Pivot mechanism mounted in the head jamb or ceiling instead of the top of the door. Only a small receiver is milled into the door's top edge, allowing thinner frames and larger glass openings. Cover plates are magnetic and available in stainless steel, black, or white.
Top Pivots

The top pivot anchors the door to the ceiling or head jamb. System One is compatible with three top pivot types — choose based on your installation conditions and door design.

Top Pivot Installed In Best For Cable Entry
Top Pivot Regular Top of door Standard installations — narrow-profile pivot doors with a ceiling plate above No
Top Pivot Cable Grommet Top of door Doors requiring wiring for integrated lighting, electronic locks, or access control. Ø7.5 mm cable passage. Yes
Top Pivot Reversed (TP-R) Head jamb or ceiling Glass doors requiring minimal frame width; exterior doors with a head jamb; middle-placement doors where ceiling-side adjustment is preferred Yes (standard)

With Top Pivot Reversed, no system needs to be housed in the top of the door — only a small receiver is milled into the door's top edge. This allows thinner frames and larger glass openings, which pairs naturally with System One's minimal 18 mm bottom pivot. The TP-R pin rotates downward into the receiver during installation, and all adjustment is done from inside the door opening. Cover plates are magnetic and available in stainless steel, black, or white.

Floor Plate Options

All floor plates mount 8 mm into the floor and are compatible with underfloor heating. Surface-mounted plates sit on top of the floor with short anchor pins. Flush/inset plates recess into the sill and are required when drop seals are used.

Round Ø80 × 9 mm. Surface-mounted. Radial adjustment ±2.5°. Stainless steel or black.
Square 80 × 40 × 9 mm. Surface-mounted. Stainless steel or black.
Round Inset Flush 80 × 40 × 11 mm. Recessed into sill. No radial adjustment. Stainless steel only.
Square Inset Flush 80 × 40 × 11 mm. Recessed into sill. No radial adjustment. Stainless steel only.
Installation Clearances
  • Top gap: 4–10 mm (ceiling to top of door)
  • Bottom gap: 11 mm with surface-mounted floor plates; 7 mm with flush/recessed floor plates

About FritsJurgens Pivot Systems

FritsJurgens pivot systems are concealed inside the door and floor, with no visible frame or overhead closer. All systems use a bottom pivot, top pivot, ceiling plate, and floor plate. The right system depends on your door weight, whether you need self-closing, and how much control you want over door movement.

How to Choose

System ONE is a free-swing pivot with no self-closing and no hold positions. The door stays wherever it is left. Supports doors up to 500 kg with full 360° revolving capability. The simplest system in the FritsJurgens line — ideal when no closing force or position control is needed.

System M+ is the full-control system. Self-closes from up to 125°, with adjustable damping on opening and closing, a 30° slow-close zone, and Latch Control to ensure proper latching. Supports doors from 20 kg to 500 kg across eight weight classes. The right choice for most residential and commercial applications.

System FX combines free-swing movement with strong hold positions at 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°. Opens in both directions and supports 360° revolving, but does not self-close. Suited to passages and open-plan spaces where the door needs to stay open.

All systems require milling into the door for the bottom pivot body. Floor plate options are shared across systems and can be surface-mounted or recessed into the sill.

Installation Notes

Pre-drilling or pre-milling for hardware components is not recommended until all items are received and measured.

There may be slight variations that could affect the installation of your hardware as many pieces are hand finished / fabricated.
