Description
The Invisible Plate Combination by Forbes & Lomax pairs rotary dimmers and toggle switches on a single clear acrylic plate, designed to disappear against the wall surface. Inspired by glass switch plates of the 1930s, the Invisible line is engineered to showcase wall treatments — wallpaper, lime wash, plaster, or paint — while providing precise lighting control for residential and light-commercial interiors.
Each unit ships with two plates: a clear lucite top plate and a white metal backplate. When installed over stone or tile, the white backplate may require faux painting to blend. Rotary dimmers, toggle switches, and push buttons can be configured on the same plate for a fully customized control solution. Established in 1987, Forbes & Lomax is a UK-based manufacturer with a strong reputation among architects and designers for quality electrical hardware.

Important Notes
- Toggle switches conform to UL 20 and are certified to CSA C22.2 No.111.
- Rotary dimmers conform to UL 1472 and are certified to CSA C22.2 No.184.
- LED dimmers are Forward Phase Triac dimmers, rated for up to 120W LED or 300W incandescent.
- Toggle switches install into standard junction boxes — boxes must be recessed below the finished wall surface by at least 1/8".
- Please review and ensure all certifications are applicable for your local code.
- To guarantee compatibility with higher wattage, transformer-driven, or non-replaceable LED fixtures, please email or upload light specifications before purchase.
- Must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Unlacquered Polished Brass is a living finish that changes colour over time with a high-shine, polished look. Lacquered Brushed Brass is a non-living finish and will not change colour.
