Description

The Ø35 ring trim cover is an optional accessory designed to conceal the reveal and provide a refined finishing touch to Ø35 devices. It is part of the 22 System, a suite of flush electrical accessories and plates that create an ultra-minimal, seamless look for walls—ideal for design connoisseurs who appreciate precision and detail.

The 22 System mounting plates and devices are compatible with conventional junction boxes and wiring. Cylindrical devices lock securely into a receiving system, which is either mudded directly into drywall or set into a sheet of finish material. The result is a fully integrated assembly with no visible cover plates, ensuring a clean, uninterrupted flush wall surface.

To determine which Bocci items are best for your application, please review the following questions and watch these videos for both Drywall and Alternate Installation:

1. Where is it being installed?
2. What type of mounting plate do you want?
  • Single
  • Double Linear: For vertical or horizontal mounting
  • Double Random: Set on an angle
3. Which component do you need?
  • Amp 15A or 20A (confirm with your electrician if you're unsure)
  • If going into an alternate (ex. stone) substrate, which length do you need? Selection guide here
  • Select Finish (black/white/almond)
4. Do you want to buy as a finished kit or individually as parts?
FAQ
How do I Install?

View our Drywall installation video or Alternate installation video or download the installation instructions in the Product Downloads Section above.

Is the Bocci 22 System UL approved?

Yes, the 22 System is CE compliant and UL certified, designed following UL standards 498 and 514D and the National Electrical Code (NEC 2020, NFPA 70). View UL certification.

What surfaces can I install into?

Any surface: drywall, millwork, concrete, tile, stone, glass, etc. There are two assembly options, one for drywall and one for all other surfaces.

What colour options are available?

White, almond, and black. View colour options.

Custom colours?

For larger volumes, Bocci can sometimes work on custom colours or finishes. Please contact us for more information.

Are the outlets tamper resistant?

Yes, 22 System outlets are tamper resistant and bear the "TR" marking on the outlet face.

What junction box should I use?

Standard depth junction boxes are compatible. Must have two screw holes in the middle plane, spaced 83 mm (+/- 0.5 mm) apart.

Which component size for alternate materials?

See the alternate selection chart.

Is there a GFI/GFCI outlet?

Bocci 22 does not offer a GFCI outlet directly. Code can be met using the TR outlet with an independently sourced GFCI installed remotely in the panel. Consult a certified electrician.

Do I need the removal tool?

Yes, required for all 22 System installations to access junction box wiring. Compatible with all component depths.

Can I mix line voltage and low voltage on one plate?

Yes, if your junction box has a permanent barrier or listed divider with separated raceway. See NEC 2008: Article 800.133 Exception #1 and Article 620.36.

What is the 22.3.6 Keypad Control for?

A minimalist keypad for smart home systems, programmable via CAT5 connection.

Is there a dimmer?

Not currently, but the 22.3.6 keypad can be programmed to control dimming through a smart home system.

Installation Notes

Pre-drilling or pre-milling for hardware components is not recommended until all items are received and measured.

There may be slight variations that could affect the installation of your hardware as many pieces are hand finished / fabricated.

Outlets as architecture.

The Bocci 22 System treats electrical outlets as architectural elements rather than hardware. Devices sit flush with the surface they serve — drywall, stone, tile, glass, millwork, concrete — with no cover plate, no frame, and no interruption to the finish. A cylindrical device locks into a mounting plate set behind the finish material. The face sits precisely flush with the surface; from any distance the outlet reads as part of the wall, not applied to it. The system is certified for use across North America and compatible with every common substrate. Designed by Omer Arbel in 2009 and made in Vancouver by Bocci. The system has been honoured by Red Dot, D&AD, the German Design Council, and the Industrial Designer Society of America. More than fifteen years of installations refine a single proposition: electrical fittings should recede into the surfaces they serve.

Principles

01

Flush by Design
Devices sit precisely flush with the finish material. No cover plate, no frame, no escutcheon. The outlet disappears into the wall and the architecture remains uninterrupted.

02

Every Substrate
Engineered for drywall, plaster, stone, tile, glass, concrete, millwork, MDF, and Corian. Mounting plates are substrate-specific; devices are universal. Every common wall assembly is supported.

03

One Modular System
Every plate accepts every device. Singles, doubles, linear, diagonal — all built from a shared set of components. Configuration is a specification decision, not an engineering one.

04

Code Compliant
UL-listed to standards 498 and 514D. NEC 2023 compliant. CE compliant. Approved for use in New York City as of June 2024. Tamper-resistant standard across all outlet configurations.
